Over here the legend goes like this: Whilst staying at Sens, Burgundy, Clotaire II, the King of France, enchanted with the exquisite tone of the old bell of the church of the city, ordered the bell to be removed to Paris. When the bell was transferred there, it refused to give forth any sound, so the frightened King ordered the bell to be returned to Sens at once. On the way back, when at last in sight of the city, the bell suddenly rang out exquisitely once more although no human hand had touch it.
