A golden amber colour, a sweet nose with presence of peat and caramel, a palate with hazelnut and milk chocolate. A smooth aftertaste with tones of honey, oak and hazelnuts.
With hard water from Graggan Burn, the fruity and rich Cragganmore Distillers Edition has a malty character excellently balanced with notes of Port wine and hints of chocolate and raspberries. A very long and dry aftertaste.
One of that incredible 600 bottles batch, a discontinued rarity. Time for a wee dram!
A product of truly inspired cask selection and blending, quite rare for a Speyside.
A special single malt with warm spicy flavours, aged in European, American and New American oak casks to carefully release the virgin cask flavours. Then the whisky is mellowed in Glenfiddich’s unique Solera vat before being married in Portuguese oak tuns.
A dram matured in fine Spanish Oloroso and American oak casks. Every batch is individually numbered and carefully watched over, and it is renowned for its extraordinary consistency and character from an intense marrying period and a distinguished finish.
A great 30 year old Speyside from Glenfiddich, a winner of a silver medal in 2005 and a gold medal in 2013 at the International Wine and Spirits Competition.
A clean, light nose with hints of grist and herbs for this Speysider, and a palate with notes of oily nuts, acacia honey and barley. A medium length, a bit oaky aftertaste.
Truly a Master’s Selection. For one, the discontinued Balvenie Founder’s Reserve 10 Year Old, created by the Balvenie Malt Master David Stuart is a fine dram from a marriage of The Balvenie single malt matured in Bourbon casks with that matured in Sherry casks.
For two, the 12 year old Balvenie DoubleWood over the period of maturation is transferred from a traditional oak whisky cask to a first fill European oak Sherry cask. The traditional casks soften and add character, whilst the Sherry wood brings depth and fullness of flavour.
And for three, matured in oak casks for 15 years, the Balvenie Single Cask 25 Year Old spent a further decade in Balvenie’s warehouses. Each cask formed a limited edition of up to 250 hand-numbered bottles.
